The second leg of the Triple Crown, the Preakness Stakes, will be held on May 16th at Pimlico Racecourse in Baltimore, Maryland! Run at the strange distance of 1 3/16th miles, the Preakness is only a 16th of a mile shorter than the Kentucky Derby but what a 16th it is! Last year Big Brown destroyed a light Preakness field but with so many terrific three year old colts this year ready to battle for Triple Crown glory the 2009 Preakness figures to be one for the ages!
